Races between 20 and 49 km with 1,300m minimum vertical climb.

ULTRA

Races between 50 and 99 km with 3,200m minimum vertical climb or maximum finish time must be under 16 hours.

VERTICAL

Uphill races with a minimum average incline of 20% and some sections over 33% with 5 km maximum length.

SKYSPEED

Races with 100 metres or more vertical climb and more than 33% incline.

STAIR CLIMBING/VERTICAL RUNNING

Vertical races with an incline over 45% on stairs indoors or outdoors.

SKYBIKE

Duathlons consisting of a bike or mountain bike race and Vertical Kilometer or skyrunning competition.

SKYRAID

Skyrunning team races over long distances combining other sports such as cycling, skiing, climbing etc.

  • SAI is a full member of International Skyrunning Federation - ISF.
  • Skyrunning Association (India) - SAI is non for profit and non governmental organisation.
  • This association retains the rights regarding organizing the Skyrunning games in state level and National, Also retain the right to send Skyrunner in International level from National level team.
  • This association also has right to open state level and National level coaching center.
  • This association has got right to form any new committee for the development of said of sport Ex. (Sate sports organization committee ,Security committee, Environment committee, Anti doping committee, advancement committee etc)

Total 4 Major events are there for Skyrunning in India each year.

National Championship

This is Major Championship in India. In this championship all categoy covered, Mainly more than Skyrunning Ultra Marathon and Vertical Race.

Federation Cup

This is second Major Championship in India. In this championship cover Senior, Junior and less then 16 Age mainy concentrated on Vertical Race.

Srinagar Open

This race conducted near Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir state of India. This race mainly concentrated on Ultra Skyrunning (40+ km Distance).

Auli Open

This race conducted at Joshimath near Auli in Himachal Pradesh state of India. This race mainly concentrated on Vertical Skyrunning event (10+ km Distance).

Vertical World Circuit has been uniting race organisers, creating new events and recruiting and managing elite athletes on some the world’s most iconic skyscrapers. A ranking system awards world champion titles and an end of season prize purse.
